luego de habitar e impulsar en conjunto algunos de los actuales nichos y colectivos bonaerenses dedicados a empujar y explorar los márgenes de la música electrónica contemporánea - CHOCA y djAshley encuentran complicidad al afilar y apuntar en paralelo sus búsquedas y oídos hacia algunos subgéneros y sonidos algo más específicos y personales.

su EP debut como dúo - compuesto y producido en unos pocos encuentros íntimos y esporádicos - transmite quizá justamente su desarrollo; un proceso lúdico y espontáneo que experimenta con varios puntos medios de sensibilidades y referencias.

entre las diversas hibridaciones estéticas, se distinguen influencias más concretas de algunos de los mismos sonidos que actualmente también atraviesan sus dj-sets; y se manifiestan en: texturas y timbres reminiscentes al hyper-bass, ritmos y velocidades clásicas del footwork, bajos y one-shots como los del riddim y dubstep.

este proyecto de 4 tracks originales pareciera ser la mera superficie de una colaboración a largo plazo que promete exploraciones excitantes e innovadoras.

For the past couple of years, CHOCA and djAshley have been staples of the Buenos Aires underground club scene. Their DJing can usually be described as loud and chaotic; an intentionally ‘improper' type of sound. What mostly characterizes them though, is their unpredictability and boldness in their music selection and their eccentric mixing techniques.

In this four track EP - composed and produced in a couple of intimate hangouts - they venture deep into sonic subtleties like those heard in the more textured and trippy styles of bass music, while also experimenting with more personal and unexpected grooves influenced by footwork and riddim ⇢ all while still maintaining that punk spirit and playfulness that has always made them stand out.
